Homework for Week 3

Hello Parents & Students,

Welcome to Week 3.  This week is going to be very busy!  Students, you need to bring your diary to school everyday so you can update your parents each evening and help them keep in touch with what is happening at school.

All homework is due each Friday from Week 3 onwards as I have changed the homework requirements so if you are confused please email me or talk with me.  Homework should take between 15 - 30 minutes each night.  Parents, if it takes longer than this please contact me and I'll alter your child's programme.

Last week the class completed an Algebra pretest.  Each week I will send home an Algebra homework sheet to complete.  Parents, your child may sometimes need a little assistance from you.

Homework for Week 3

Reading each night:

1.  Beavers read 3 chapters of their novel & write a 5 sentence summary for each chapter at the back of their homework book.  Please date each summary.

2.  Spiders & Caterpillars read 4 chapters of their novel & write a 5+ sentence summary for each chapter at the back of their homework book.  Please date each summary.

Maths:

Every student who stays for maths in Rm 14 has an Algebra homework sheet.  We will mark these sheets each Friday.  Students in the Ants & Bookworms sheets are double sided, please just do the side that says worksheet - 29 & 30.

Spelling:

During week 1 the class had a spelling test.  I have marked these and all students should learn 10 words if they are working at list 3 or 20 words if they are working at list 4+.

Parents, if you feel these words are too easy please email me or leave a note in the diary and I'll send home a paper copy of the words in that list.  You can then test your child on all the words and they can learn the ones they got wrong and then move up to the next level.

Blog:

Students, leave a comment underneath this post to let me know you understand what your homework is for the week and also read and comment on the post about the Kapa Haka students performing for the All Blacks.  How many people can you spot from Isel House?

Have a great week,

Miss Klenner

  2. Dan, you are in the Caterpillars for reading & Ladybugs for Maths. So you need to read 4 chapters of your book this week and & write a summary for each chapter. I missed teaching you today and hope you are better by tomorrow. :-)
