Homework Week 2

Dear Parents & Students,

I wish to apologise for not posting this earlier.  All I can say is that I completely forgot to publish my homework entry!  I can't believe it slipped my mind but it certainly did!

Homework:

1. No spelling - we have nearly finished marking our test from last week.

2.  Read & complete summary.

Today each student received their novel.  The minimum expectation is that you will read at home 4 chapters a week and summary of each chapter at the back of their homework book.  The summary doesn't have to be long, 5+ sentences will be fine but if you would like to write more you are more than welcome.  Instead of starting each entry on a new page, you are to record the long date, underlining it in red pen & the chapter number and name (if it has one).  Then you write the summary.  Finally you rule off in red pen.  When you are ready to write the next summary you miss one line, write the long date, underlining it in red pen & the chapter number and name (if it has one) and write your summary.  You are welcome to create a small illustration for each chapter if you would like.  I'm very excited at the thought of reading your work.  Once you have finished this novel you may choose your next one but you will need to show it to me so I can record what it is.

3. Homework sheet - this is due on Friday.  I know you'll all manage to do this as you will have had two weeks to complete it.

4. Sign the blog & respectfully ask your parents to sign your diary before Friday.  Wouldn't it be amazing if everyone brought their signed diary to school?

Parents & students, if there are any problems with the homework, please talk to me about it and we will create a solution.

Tonight I started reading & marking your pretest reports that you wrote earlier today and I want you to know that I'm really impressed with the quality of work and expertise you have displayed in your writing.
